Being yourself. Sounds easy to some. But which self? We can be confident with one person and uncertain with another, outspoken with friends and quiet with family, independent until someone we care about disagrees with us. So what does it actually mean to “be yourself” when there is someone else in the room?
This workshop explores how we experience ourselves in relationships, drawing on psychological perspectives on differentiation, connection and separation.
Together, we will look at what happens when other people affect us:
- how we respond to disagreement
- how we stay connected to our own wants and opinions
- where our experience can become entangled with someone else’s
- and what happens when we need distance.
Through a combination of psychological perspectives, discussions, and experiential exercises, we will explore how we move between closeness and separateness, and how we can stay connected to others without losing contact with ourselves. Rather than trying to become more independent or less affected by other people, we will explore the possibility of allowing both to exist: a me, a you, and an us.
As with all Blom Collective workshops, you can participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable, and you are welcome just as you are.

The workshop will be guided by:
Psychotherapist in training Antonio Filipović will deliver the presentation and facilitate self-reflection and discussion.
