“We teach children to colour inside the lines, and then expect adults to think outside the box,” is reported to have been said by the author Frank Sonnenberg.
Recent studies have found Colouring to have incredible potential on mental health. Coloring therapy combined with conventional therapy in GAD (generalised anxiety disorder) patients could better alleviate anxiety‐depression symptoms, enhance positive moods, and reduce negative moods, further enhancing the therapeutic effects of GAD patients. But are the benefits gained through staying within the lines? Is this person or situation specific?
Join for a colourful afternoon where we will explore this theme, with a cup of tea, colouring pencils, colouring pages, as well as blank ones. We will begin with a short presentation outlining the benefits of colouring, doodling, and colour psychology. We will then engage in an experiment of colouring inside the lines, and, for those feeling brave enough, outside of them. We will be invited to collect awarenesses from each attempt, and share in small groups and in the larger group.
All materials will be provided.
The evening will be hosted by Aglaia Michelaki Clinical Psychotherapist and Certified Mindfulness Instructor (MBSR).
