VOLUNTEER IN COPENHAGEN

Facilitate workshops at Blom Collective

Are you a psychologist or psychotherapist – or studying to become one? Join Blom Collective as a volunteer workshop facilitator and share your professional knowledge with an international community that meets to talk about mental health and personal development.

We’ll start with a relaxed, informal chat about the café and what kinds of workshops you could imagine running, whether on your own or with another volunteer. There’s no pressure to commit at the outset; it’s simply a chance to seek understanding and explore ideas together before you decide. See how to get started.

About Blom Collective

Blom Collective is DepressionsForeningen’s English-speaking community for people who have come to Denmark from other countries. On Tuesday evenings, participants meet at Café Blom in central Copenhagen for workshops on mental well-being and personal development – with topics such as heartbreak, relational self-awareness, body awareness and a sense of home.

Many participants are dealing with stress, low mood or anxiety, while others simply want to grow alongside people who share some of the same experiences.

As a volunteer workshop facilitator, you will:

  • Give a short professional talk on a topic within mental health and personal development.
  • Facilitate exercises, reflection and conversations in small groups and in plenary.
  • Create a safe space where participants can take part as much or as little as they like.
  • Plan the workshop with support from us – we take care of promotion and sign-up.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for psychology students, psychotherapy students and trainees, psychologists and psychotherapists who enjoy working with groups and want to use their professional skills in practice.

With your own experience of moving to a new country

Many of our participants know what it is like to start over in a new country, language and culture. If you have your own experience of migration, you bring an understanding that makes a real difference – and you can host workshops for Blom Collective.

Without migration experience?

You are also very welcome. You can host similar workshops for our Danish participants instead.

What you get:

  • Hands-on experience planning and facilitating groups – valuable for your studies, your practice and your CV.
  • Freedom to develop workshops within your own field of interest.
  • A professional community with other psychologists and psychotherapists.
  • The possibility of a volunteer reference when you have been with us for a while.
  • The chance to make a real difference for people building a life in a new country.

Workshops take place on Tuesday evenings (usually 17:30-20:00) at Café Blom in Copenhagen. We plan the dates together with you.
